This online exclusive episode of Sesame Street is about losing something valuable. And unfortunately, that is a lesson that will be learned the hard way by our favorite children’s characters, especially Elmo. The residents of Sesame Street – along with a plethora of celebrities and influencers – have lost their blue verification badges, and these characters will learn a hard and dangerous lesson if it’s not found on time.

A handful of Sesame Street favorites took the time to say farewell to the checkmark after they noticed it was missing. Out of all of them, it seems like Oscar the Grouch was celebrating the most, since it means people would leave him alone from this point forward.

Maybe everyone will stay away now that I don't have a blue checkmark!

However, it seems like Elmo was hit the most once the little monster discovered that his checkmark was gone. Elmo said that it will miss the checkmark but at the end of the day “Elmo is still Elmo.” Fortunately, people provided Elmo comfort and called out Twitter CEO, Elon Musk to give him his badge back.

Elmo will miss you, little blue check mark. But don’t worry everybody, Elmo is still Elmo! ❤️

If there is one thing we learned about social media, it’s that not everyone is truthful with their emotions. According to Big Bird, that might be the case since he saw the tweet as Elmo’s call for help to find something he’s lost.

Do you need help finding it Elmo? Do you remember where you last had it? https://t.co/5CKf0Z7z28

Unfortunately, Elmo’s, as well as the rest of the Sesame Street crew’s badges were found, but purchased by seedy impersonators who plan to not entertain and educate kids, but rather promote the benefits of web3 and crypto. At the same time, other shady Elmo fakers have emerged from the shadows, intending to take over Elmo’s place on the internet.

Good thing this Elmo still has his. pic.twitter.com/eeSdEojhJa

It’s now up to Musk to help this little red monster find his verification before his name is tarnished by impersonators. After all, he did manage to find Stephen King, LeBron James, and William Shatner’s blue badges. For now, all Elmo could do is look for it, or pay Oscar the Grouch to see if he knows anyone in the black market that could provide a replacement.

Maybe celebrities like Jack Black and Halle Berry should come over and visit the little monster, and teach him that you don’t need a blue tick to be cool.
