The world was introduced to Jayson Tatum's mom Brandy after the Boston Celtics beat the Indiana Pacers in May 2024 and the NBA star embraced her in front of cameras and fans.
Per Marca, Brandy has always supported her son's ambitions. She worked multiple jobs to make ends meet while raising Jayson in St. Louis.
At the same time, she was reportedly earning her college degree (she would even bring Jayson with her to classes), which inspired her son to go after his dreams as well.

Marca reports that Brandy was going to pursue a college volleyball career at the University of Tennessee — until she got pregnant with Jayson.
Meanwhile, Jayson's dad Justin Tatum is also an athlete, and was promoted to head coach of the Australian National Basketball League team Illawarra in 2023, per CBS News.
Jayson congratulated his father at that time, saying, "I'm extremely happy for him and proud of him. It's a big step. I know he's trying to build his resume, his coaching career."

In addition to being a devoted "mama's boy," Jayson is a proud father.
The All-Star player welcomed a son, Jayson “Deuce” Christopher Tatum Jr., in 2017 with his high school girlfriend Toriah Lachell, per NBC News.
"On the court [I want Deuce to remember me as] ... a competitor, somebody that just always wanted to win," Jayson said about his son. "Every time he comes to the game, he sees how I give it my all, I'm doing everything I can in my power to help us win. Per People, Deuce is even an unofficial mascot for the Celtics. Fellow player Grant Williams revealed that he and the kid have a "love-hate relationship." He said, "There's days where he comes in, gives me a hug, says, 'What's up?' and daps me up. There's other days where he looks at me crazy, kind of gives me a mean mug, punches me a few times, and keeps it moving."
Judging by Jayson's Instagram, the father and son are always together.
