New year, new ‘do!

Candace Cameron Bure debuted her new auburn hair on the red carpet at an event in Pasadena, CA over the weekend. The Fuller House star — who is usually blonde — paired her bold, updated locks with an even bolder dress while promoting her new project for Hallmark Channel’s Movies and Mysteries.

Candace, 40, looked stunning with her new makeover. The color featured a darker auburn at the root and it gradually lightened to a strawberry blonde at the end in a subtle ombre — or sombre. She paired her new hairstyle with a printed, cap sleeve, ankle length J. Mendel dress that featured a deep, plunging neckline. She accessorized her look with black, strappy Neil J. Rodgers heels, and a black clutch by Tyler Ellis.

Even though it was the first time that Candace walked a red carpet with her red locks, she actually had her hair dyed by colorist Debi Dumas two weeks ago. She posted a mirror selfie at the salon on Instagram and explained that she underwent a hair transformation for her latest role.

“Red hair don’t care,” she wrote in the caption. “For those of you who haven’t seen my Mystery Movie series on Hallmark, I play Aurora Teagarden in the Aurora Teagarden mysteries, based on the best selling books by Charlain Harris. We are shooting movies five and six soon!”

Candace explained that she dyed her hair for the role — which is also one of the reasons why she stepped down as co-host on The View last month. After a year with the show, she announced that she was leaving during the Dec. 8 episode.

“It wasn’t an easy decision,” she said. “Before I started The View, I already had my commitments to Fuller House and the Hallmark Channel… Because of the success of those, my commitments have become even greater with those shows.”
